Sgt. Michael Kelleher, left, supervisor of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s HazMat Detail, was the incident commander April 8 at Universal Studios Hollywood, where a simulated plane crash resulted in dangerously high levels of simulated radiation. The Cal Guard's 9th CST surveyed the area, determined the contaminants present, predicted the dispersal of the radiological substances and advised Kelleher on response measures.
