An OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter with 1st Sqd., 6th Cav. Regt. flies low over the desert March 30, 2015 at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif., during 2nd ABCT, 1st Inf. Div.’s rotation. First entering service as the OH-58A in 1969, the OH-58D provided close combat air support in Iraq and Afghanistan, becoming one of the most requested platforms by ground forces in each theater.
