    150401-N-XN499-614 DJIBOUTI (April 1, 2015) Boatswains' Mate Seaman Cory Bowers, from Oakboro, N.C., assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4, directs a truck onto Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) 27 during a backload of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU) to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21). New York is a part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 24th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
