A Marine breaks a concrete block for a find-the-rebar challenge during an engineer field-meet March 20 on Camp Hansen. The challenge pits two teams of two against each other in a timed event. Each team must use a sledge hammer to find a piece of rebar inside a block of concrete. The field-meet is an annual event the engineers on Okinawa hold to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The Marines, sailors and airmen compete in multiple challenges throughout the day to see who the best company of engineers on Okinawa is. Some of the competitions include a tire-flip relay, an iron-man challenge, zodiac relay, and a chariot race. The company that wins the most competitions by the end of the day receives a trophy that is passed down from the winners every year. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Thor J. Larson/Released)
