Joshua Tauer, a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot for 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment out of San Antonio, does pre-flight checks on his helicopter before flying a mission in support of this year's Beyond the Horizon exercise here. Beyond the Horizon is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored, U.S. Army South planned and led annual humanitarian and civic assistance exercise. The exercise lasts for several months and provides construction and medical assistance to partner nations throughout the Central and South American and Caribbean regions.
