Staff Sgt. Carolin Chavez introduces educators and community leaders from throughout Western New York and Pennsylvania to incentive training and the daily rigors of recruit training while aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, Feb. 25. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Buffalo invited journalists, high school teachers, coaches and counselors to see first-hand how their former students make the transformation from civilian to United States Marine during the three-day workshop.
