National police officers assigned to the 3rd NP Brigade, 1st NP Division provide security as their fellow officers enter and clear a home during a training event, June 24, at Forward Operating Base Hammer, Iraq, located outside of eastern Baghdad. Paratroopers assigned to Troop K, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad, have been training their NPs counterparts on several military tactics and procedures as part of the "Panther Recon Training Academy." The two-week course teaches Iraqi security forces basic Soldier skills such as troop leading procedures, pre-combat checks, and entering and clearing buildings.
