Ige was invited by U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Commander Lt. Gen. John A. Toolan to tour Marine Corps Base Hawaii and be briefed on how the installation supports MARFORPAC's operational forces based in Hawaii and transiting the Pacific on deployment throughout the Asia Pacific region. Ige was also briefed on how MCBH supports the base Marines and sailors and their families, along with the local community.
