150311-N-OU290-079 PEARL HARBOR (Mar. 11, 2015) Retired U.S. Army Colonel Ben Acohido, chaplain for VFW Post 1572, passes the flag to William Sisco, during an ash-scattering ceremony for Pearl Harbor survivor, Chief Fire Controlman (FCC) Leo Shumard. Shumard was stationed aboard the battleship USS Maryland (BB 46) during the attack on December 7, 1941. The March 11 event was a collaborative effort between Navy Region Hawaii, Joint Base Funeral Honors, National Park Service, and local VFW Posts 1572 and 2875.
