Andrews (far right), Houston Mayor Annise Parker (far left), Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Houston Commanding Officer Navy Cmdr. Rick Evangelista (left center) and Navy City Outreach Officer Lt. Cmdr. J. Darnell Jones discuss the long heritage shared between the Navy and Houston and how the two communities can further support each other during an official visit March 6. Andrews visited the mayor as part of a two-day visit to NRD Houston to meet with Navy recruiters, school officials and city leaders. Navy Recruiting District Houston seeks out quality candidates throughout the surrounding areas, helping the Navy meet their hiring goals while also conducting volunteer activities designed to help give back the city of Houston and the surrounding communities they serve.
