U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Zachary McDaniel, 509th Operations Support Squadron airfield management operations coordinator, examines decelerator results at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., March 2, 2015. The decelerator is used to determine braking action based on how slick or dry the runways are. Once airfield management receives results, they are relayed to the pilots so they can determine the necessary braking action to use when taxiing.
