Air Force Research Laboratory researcher, Dr. Joshua Hagen, holds up a sweat sensor prototype. AFRL's 711th Human Performance Wing and the University of Cincinnati conducted the first successful human trials of the usable sweat sensor at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Feb. 11. The results of the trial are promising, not only for future 711th research efforts, but for the Air Force and its sister services. The team is already working on future sensor generations, which could conceivably measure more biomarkers like true physical exhaustion, stress or fatigue.
