The Coast Guard Cutter Key Largo and a U.S. Navy vessel seized 1,729 pounds of marijuana, a 40-foot sailing vessel and apprehended a suspected Russian smuggler following an at-sea interdiction Feb. 14, 2015, approximately 130 nautical miles south of the Dominican Republic. The seized contraband was estimated to have a wholesale value of approximately $1.6 million dollars and was transferred to Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents in Puerto Rico for prosecution.
