Volunteers from the United Service Organizations of North Carolina, and Tom Cowen, family readiness officer for 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, provided incredible support to service members and their loved ones at the departure reception for 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Jan. 24. Nearly 900 Marines and Sailors from 2nd Bn., 8th Marines are deploying to support operations in the U.S. European Command and U.S. African Command areas of responsibility.
