Maj. Muyeed, Basrah's newly formed Iraqi police Security Riverine Patrol division commander, addresses the crowd during a ceremony graduating the first Basrah IPSRP class at Iraqi police headquarters in Basrah, Iraq. The IPSRP is the first of its kind in the southern region of Iraq and will fight smuggling on the Shaat al Arab River which is a natural border with Iran. The IPSRP trained with Special Boat Team-22. The U.S. forces have deployed to southern Iraq to take over the role of working with Iraqi security forces to protect and secure the greater Basrah, Iraq, region.
