Lt. Col. Dave Hill, commander of the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, presents Dan West and the Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars with cased colors and a "Phoenix" Battalion Coin during the 1st STB Welcome Home Ball, May 15, at the Bell County Expose Center in Belton, Texas. Hill and the Soldiers and families of the 1st STB took the opportunity at the spring formal to show their gratitude to West, the chairman of the Texas VFW, for his outstanding contributions to the battalion during pre-deployment and operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09.
