Cpl. Jeffery Dittmar, a rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, hold his 5-month-old son, Caleb, upon returning to Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 15, 2015. Several companies and attachments with 2/2 spent a 6-month long deployment spread across Europe and Africa. Some service members with 2/2 returned from Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy. Others came home from Moron Air Base in Spain. Units with 2/2, as well as attachments from Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, returned from Liberia in support of Operation United Assistance.
