Capt. Alex Pearson talks with players at breakfast Dec. 31, for the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. Pearson spoke to the athletes about setting the example. “When you can worry about the success of the player to your right and left over your own, only then can you be a true leader,” Pearson said during his speech. Pearson is the executive officer for Recruiting Station Columbia, South Carolina. The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl recognizes and celebrates selected players as exemplary athletes, youth leaders, high-academic performers and engaged community members. The bowl will be nationally televised live from The StubHub Center in Carson at 6 p.m. (PST) on January 4, 2015, on Fox Sports 1. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Erik S. Brooks Jr.)
