Amy Balduf, wife of Marine Sgt. Kevin Balduf who was killed in Iraq in May of last year, and their two daughters Eden and Stephanie, cast a memorial wreath off the pier into Portland Bay, followed by an echoing 21-gun salute to conclude the 2012 Run for the Fallen tribute race. The 65-kilometer course stretched along route from Ogunquit to Portland, each kilometer dedicated in honor of a fallen Maine service member. Over 200 runners participated, many more running one or two kilometers in honor of a specific service member. (U.S. Army Photo by Pfc. Adam J. Simmler 121st Public Affairs Detachment, MEARNG)
