Staff Sgt. Christopher Diaz, a military working dog handler in support of Marine Special Operations Team 8113, was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal with combat distinguishing device during a ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 25, 2014. Diaz selflessly and courageously put himself between his team and the point of danger during an improvised explosive device attack in 2011.
