A detailed shot of U.S. Navy Military Working Dog "Don's" K9 Badge, April 20, while on duty at the Port of Djibouti. Don and his handler, Petty Officer 2nd Class Kellyann Stietzel are assigned to Camp Lemonier, and routinely stand duty at the Port of Djibouti inspecting ships, tugboats and piers for possible explosive and narcotics as well as routine security patrols. The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
