A Latvian girl sits atop her father's shoulders to gain a better view of the festivities during the Latvia Day parade in Riga, Latvia, Nov. 18, 2014. Soldiers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, as well as supporting soldiers from other NATO allied countries, marched in the parade to honor the 96th year of Latvia's independence. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
