Health care professionals learn to treat trauma patients in a simulated setting before entering the actual emergency room at the Navy Trauma Training Center in Los Angeles. "The course gives the students the ability to practice trauma medicine skills in a controlled environment before seeing it in a combat zone," said Chief Petty Officer Craig W. Meaders, 32, Salem, Ore., senior enlisted leader, Navy Trauma Training Center.
