The amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga deploys amphibious assault vehicles from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit for a landing at Gray Beach, Philippines during Balikatan 2009. Balikatan 2009 is an annual combined, joint-bilateral exercise involving U.S. Military and Armed Forces of the Philippines personnel as well as subject matter experts from Philippine Civil Defense Agencies.
