Petty Officers 1st Class Alvin Yabut and Candido Martinez, biomedicine repair technicians aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort, inspects equipment at the general hospital in Port-au-Prince. A biomedicine repair team from the Comfort will be visiting five hospitals in Haiti as part of a Continuing Promise 2009 effort to assess and repair medical equipment and train local bio-medicine technicians. Continuing Promise is an equal partnership humanitarian and civic assistance mission between the United States and international partners to provide support programs afloat and ashore in seven countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
