An MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft is showcased for Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Maj. Gen. Tomofusa Harada Oct. 8 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. Harada met with U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. Steven R. Rudder and U.S. Marine Col. Brian W. Cavanaugh to observe the static display of the Osprey and discuss its benefits and capabilities. Harada is the director of the JGSDF Operations Support and Intelligence Department, Ground Staff Office. Rudder is from Canton, Connecticut, and is the commanding general of 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Cavanaugh is from Baltimore, Maryland, and is the commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st MAW, III MEF.
