Haley Valentine, both with Platoon 4038, during a combat fitness test Oct. 21, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. The CFT was designed to evaluate strength, stamina, agility and coordination. Nguyen, 24, is from Orlando, Fla. Allen, 20, from Troy, Ill., and Valentine, 18, from Livonia, Mich., are scheduled to graduate Nov. 7, 2014.
