A member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force puts a 120-mm mortar round into the cannon as the two forces stand by observing here, Oct. 28. The demonstration was part of Orient Shield 14, an annual bilateral training exercise, which brings the two forces together to share military experiences, tactics and weapon systems. The exercise takes place Oct. 27 – Nov. 7.
