U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Peter Neffenger presented the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey the first bi-annual Rear Adm. Richard E. Bennis Security Award, Oct. 8, 2014, at the World Trade Center Memorial. This award serves to highlight and recognize outstanding achievements and contributions of the maritime community with regards to implementation of Maritime Transportation Security Act requirements and other maritime security best practices in safeguarding our nations marine transportation system.
