Sgt. Russell Campbell, infantryman with Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry Regiment, New Jersey Army National Guard, deployed with his unit on Sept. 22, from the Silas L. Copeland Arrival/Departure Air Control Group towards the middle east for a mission with U.S. Naval security forces. Campbell is from Phillipsburg, N.J., and will lead a squad for the first time in his Army career.
