Capt. Greg Ott is the officer in tactical command of the Applied Physics Lab Ice Station camp in the Arctic Ocean during Ice Exercise 2009. ICEX is a two-week training exercise about 200 miles from the north coast of Alaska, near Prudhoe Bay. Two Los Angeles-class submarines, USS Helena and USS Annapolis, will participate in the exercise with researchers from the University of Washington Applied Physics Laboratory and personnel from the Navy Arctic Submarine Laboratory.
