Marine 1st Lt. Daniel Novotny demonstrates a sweeping hip-throw on Marine Cpl. Raymond Perry during a school visit to Tinian Junior Senior High School. The Marines gave students a taste of Marine recruit training, taught them about different military occupational specialties and introduced them to different military vehicles. The Marines are on Tinian as part of Valiant Shield 2014, a U.S.-only exercise integrating U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps assets, offering real-world joint operational experience to develop capabilities that provide a full range of options to defend U.S. interests and those of its allies and partners.
