Canadian Army Brig. Gen. Simon Heatherington, director, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Combined Joint Training (CJ7) acknowledged during his remarks at a 9/11 memorial ceremony Sept. 11, 2014 in Kabul, Afghanistan, "I think that most of us are a little bit older in this crowd, that we'll remember exactly where we were when on Sept. 11th, 2001, and we didn't know what would come after that. When I think of what we should be remembering today, I look to the victims, the innocent, the civilians who went to work that day in New York City, or at the Pentagon in Washington, or just on a business flight, not knowing what the day would bring."
