Staff Sgt. Manuel Gonzalez, of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Air Wing, and Master Sgt. Richard Witkorski, of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard's 270th Engineering and Installation Squadron, reinstall a 275-volt battery pack into a Ford Fusion hybrid vehicle during an Aug. 27 hybrid vehicle maintenance class at Volk Field, Wis. Ten Air National Guard maintainers from across the country took part in the Air National Guard's first maintenance class for hybrid vehicles, held Aug. 25-29 at Volk Field. Hybrid cars are starting to enter the fleet of Air National Guard vehicles. Volk Field officials hope to offer the class on a quarterly basis.
