Capt. Jonathan Patten, a native of Detroit, presents a €1,355 (Euro) personal donation from paratroopers of 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade for the Latvian Fallen Heroes Memorial during the rotation of forces ceremony in Adazi, Latvia, Aug. 12. The 1st Sqdn., 91st Cav. Regt. worked alongside Latvian soldiers of 2nd Battalion for more than six weeks before transferring the mission to 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment. Paratroopers with 173rd Abn. Bde., based in Vicenza, Italy, are in Latvia for Operation Atlantic Resolve, dedicated to demonstrating commitment to NATO obligations and interoperability with allied forces.
