U.S. Marine Maj. Timothy Hiel of Marine Corps Forces, Africa and Senegal army Lt. Col. Cheikh A.T. Thioune discuss the Africa Partnership Station (APS) Nashville six-day joint training evolution between Senegalese soldiers and U.S. marines. An APS delegation visited Thies on the final day of training to tour the local army base and attend a graduation day for the training. The Marines are deployed as part of APS, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international partners to improve maritime safety and security for continent of Africa.
