Staff Sgt. Jason Hellums, a cavalry scout section leader from Mount Washington, Ky., assigned to Troop C, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad, takes his gloves off to introduce himself to an Iraqi resident of the Saha apartmnets in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad, Feb. 1. Hellums remained persistent in his attempts to talk to the Hajj, who eventually warmed up to his presence. Hellums and his Soldiers asked about security in the area and left the man with a phone number to the Iraqi tip line, in the event that he needed Iraqi security forces or coalition forces assistance.
