Cindy Giambastiani, sponsor of the Virginia-class attack submarine USS New Mexico (SSN 779), christens the submarine during the ship's christening ceremony at Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding. Giambastiani is the wife of retired Adm. Edmund P. Giambastiani, a submariner who previously served as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Commander, Submarine Forces Atlantic.
