Lt. Gen. Sean B. MacFarland, commanding general of III Corps and Fort Hood, takes the podium during the III Corps change of command ceremony 9:15 a.m. Aug. 8 here. MacFarland took command of III Corps during the ceremony that was presided over by Gen. Daniel B. Allyn, commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces Command. Allyn will soon become the vice chief of staff of the Army after he relinquishes command Aug. 15 of FORSCOM to Lt. Gen. (P) Mark A. Milley.
