Lance Cpl. Pete Reed provides security during a patrol in support of Operation Gateway III Dec. 28, 2008, in Farah province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Operation Gateway III was a strategically planned effort to clear Route 515 of improvised explosive devices and provide and maintain security along the important east-west roadway.
