    Joint Force Headquarters - Iowa National Guard

    Spc. Derrick Gonzalez and Pfc. Dustin Wendt, members of Company C, Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Iowa Army National Guard, help direct traffic and assist with crowd control in the hours preceding the inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. Iowa activated approximately 1,000 Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, Iowa Army National Guard, and Airmen from the 185th Air Refueling Wing and 132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard to assist with inauguration security. Their duties included transportation and attendee management, traffic control, event ingress/egress, personnel support, and transportation.
