Spc. Christopher J. Rasmussen, a native of Milton, Ky., and command driver for 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade. When asked about the new sniper cages, Rasmussen replied "The new cage is made of a non-conductive material. The height of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected makes low hanging electrical lines a real hazard. Most MRAPs have an add-on that pushes the wires out of the way, but this will just add a little bit more safety. The sniper cage provides concealment for our gunners from potential attacks and also acts as a sort of sun shade as an added bonus. If this saves one life, it will fulfill my goal." Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, is currently serving a 15-month Iraq tour in support of Multi-National Division - Baghdad.
