A U.S. Marine with second platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, takes a knee and provides security with a Republic of Korea Marine, Kahuku Training Area, Hawaii, July 11 during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. The ROK Marines are attached to Company Landing Team 1 during RIMPAC, and are partnered with U.S. Marines as well as attachments from the New Zealand Army. Their objective for the day was to eliminate opposing forces occupying the terrain surrounding radio hill. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
