Amanda Wilson and her son Will stand on the pier watching her husband sail away on the amphibious transport dock ship USS Nashville. Nashville is deploying to the coast of west and central Africa in support of Africa Partnership Station. APS is a U.S. Naval Forces Europe-led initiative, executed by a multi-national staff aboard Nashville designed to contribute to maritime safety and security in the region.
