A large military transport or heavy-lift vessel is carrying numerous armored military vehicles on its open deck, arranged in organized rows. The vehicles appear to be wheeled armored personnel carriers or infantry fighting vehicles in military camouflage paint. Personnel can be seen on and around the vehicles, suggesting active loading, unloading, or maintenance operations at sea.

Marine Corps Amphibious Assault Vehicles aboard the Mobile Landing Platform ship USNS Montford Point (MLP-1) prepare to deploy from the ship as part of an amphibious operations demonstration during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014 off the coast of Camp Pendleton. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in Exercise RIMPAC from June 26 to Aug. 1 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2014 is the 24th exercise in the series that began in 1971. (U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Cmdr. Donnell Evans/Released)
