Mongolian Armed Forces service members return to the Khaan Quest site June 29 after hiking over 10 kilometers at the conclusion of a nine-day survival course at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia. Mongolian Armed Forces service members and U.S. Marines and soldiers led a platoon of MAF through the hilly, wide-open terrain for 9 days during a survival course. The service members lived off of what they found out in the field. KQ14 is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise hosted annually by Mongolian Armed Forces and co-sponsored this year by U.S. Army, Pacific and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. KQ14 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This year marks the 12th iteration of this training event. The U.S. Marines are with III Marine Expeditionary Force, and the U.S. soldiers are with the Alaska Army National Guard.
