    Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) Vice Commander Air Force Col. Michael E. Saunders operates a JBAB-based U.S. Coast Guard 29-foot rescue response boat during a pre-Independence Day multi-mission Coast Guard patrol on the Potomac River. Mays, along with Air Force Col. Michael E. Saunders, Joint Base vice commander, joined the Coast Guard crew for its patrol to gain familiarization with the Coast Guards’ missions and preparation for the hundreds of recreational boaters, law enforcement, homeland security, and the potential to perform lifesaving actions during the upcoming three-day holiday weekend.
