    Brig. Gen. Niel E. Nelson, left, presents the Best Small Mess Hall of the Quarter award to Gunnery Sgt. Oscar D. Jaramillo June 9 at the Camp Kinser Mess Hall. The award was one of two presented at the mess hall in honor of the effort put forth by the personnel to achieve excellence. In the past two years, the mess hall has earned the quarterly award three times, and this year they have received the Maj. Gen. William Pendleton Thompson Hill Award for the best mess hall in the Marine Corps. Nelson is a Genoa, Nevada, native and commanding general of 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
