U.S. Soldiers with 2nd Battalion 5th Cavalry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, execute gunnery with M1A2 Abrams tanks on the 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command’s Grafenwoehr Training Area as part of exercise Combined Resolve II, June 13, 2014. The exercise is a U.S. Army Europe-directed multinational exercise, including more than 4,000 participants from 15 allied and partner countries. The gunnery is the first time a U.S. Army rotational force uses the European Activity Set, a set of armored vehicles and equipment pre-positioned in Grafenwoehr – including the most up-to-date versions of the M1A2 Abrams tanks and M2/M3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles -- for live-fire training in Europe.
