The 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team hosted a three-day resilience training assistant course in Macon, June 6, where Soldiers learned skills to help them grow and thrive in the face of challenges and bounce back from adversity. Participants completed a survey to confirm their character strengths, then posted their top five strengths on a wall to determine the predominant virtues of the group. The Ready and Resilient Campaign, otherwise known as R2C, builds upon mental, physical, emotional, behavioral and spiritual resilience in our Soldiers, families and civilians to enhance their ability to manage the rigors and challenges of a demanding profession. After all, a healthy mind and body are essential to individual and unit readiness. In keeping with the requirement of Army Directive 2013-07, master resilience trainers of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team certified 36 resilience training assistants to help the brigade conduct annual resilience training at the unit level. The R2C is a result of research proving that individual resilience can be built, maintained, and strengthened when viewed as an enduring concept and acquired through regular training.
